I am passionate about advancing health equity and delivering improved outcomes for patients with Limited English Proficiency ("LEP") or who are deaf or hard of hearing. More than 36 million people in the US identify as having LEP or are deaf or hard of hearing. Advancing language access and health literacy is one of the five priorities included in the CMS Framework for Health Equity. As the leader of AMN Language Services Sales, I am privileged to work with a team of committed professionals to help our customers understand how the provision of medically qualified language access services to patients helps them achieve health equity by enabling patients to:- Fully understand their health issues and treatment plans, - Increase efficiency and effectiveness of care, and - Reduce the cost of healthcareFailure to use medically qualified interpreters can have significant negative consequences to for both practitioners and patients. A recent study ("Medical Interpreters in Outpatient Practice, Annals of Family Medicine"), 1 of every 4 malpractice claims were related, in whole or in part, to the failure to provide appropriate interpreter services. Our mission at AMN Healthcare is to unlock the power of better communication, to achieve better outcomes in the diverse healthcare community, and to bridge communication gaps and break down barriers for culturally and linguistically diverse communities with highly qualified medical interpreters and innovative technology. We believe that by leveraging our medically qualified interpreters along with our shorter answer times, integration with Epic, and connections to over 40 telehealth systems, AMN is best positioned to partner with you to provide the highest value of interpretation and translation services. If your role is to enrich patient lives through health equity, please feel free to send me a personalized LinkedIn connection request.
