Costa Rican Fishery Biologist with 37 years of professional career in fisheries and marine conservation, high level policy work and advice, teaching and research experience. In the last 12 years he has worked in international fisheries focusing on tuna in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, and has also worked in a variety of fisheries in the Pacific as well as in the Caribbean. With knowledge and experience in fresh water ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment. Ability to work the whole range of fishery stakeholders, from artisanal fishermen, vessel owners and industrial fishermen, to government and RFMOs, as well as with the scientific and the NGO community. Works well in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, with the capacity to lead and be a team player. Strategic thinker and planner with very good analytical and result oriented project management skills. Loves family life, cooking sports such field and track, swimming, being in the beach, sport fishing and diving.
