My Mission:Working as a sustainability coordinator for over two years, I really enjoy helping people. I enjoy using my interpersonal skill, creativity, and relevant data to solve complex problems that benefit the environment and all its inhabitants.Why I Chose This Field:The 27-year civil war in Angola – took so much from so many, but it also gave me something precious. The devastation, destruction, and atrocities caused by such a long war are just hard to comprehend. The fight took so much from so many. I witnessed ecosystems failing, rivers polluted, forests burned, and mountains of trash piling up in the streets. I wanted to do something! War gave me a purpose to pursue environmental stewardship. My Skills & Expertise:I’m really good at:-Developing communication materials for staff regarding a company’s sustainability goalsFinding creative ways to solve problems-Presenting & communicating sustainability initiatives-Working collaboratively across the organization to establish, maintain and promote positive and effective working relationships with employees, and the public-GHG report writing-Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability programs and recommending changes to close strategic gaps when needed.-Leading, but every good leader must also know how to follow.-Researching, gathering, analyzing, and communicating relevant information-Working independently or in a group/team setting-Using: R- Studio, ArcMap, MS Suite, Google Suite,My Accomplishments: In my current place of work as a sustainability coordinator, I designed, communicated, implemented, and trained the District Office Zero Waste Sustainability initiative for an office space of about 100 employees. Unfortunately, our building was out of compliance because we didn’t have composting service set up. In under a month, I had reached out to Republic Service to set up a composting account.
