As an Student Intern, I supported Office of Data Integration and Food Protection (ODIFP) staff to perform all task below. I was receiving extensive guidance and supervision from more senior staff supervision. I updated the Geographical Information System (GIS) to make sure that all Slaughter Houses were up to date for the Field Inspectors of USDA and members of Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The updated GIS was used for Field Inspectors get quicker and accurate Slaughter Houses and ODIFP used the GIS information to take initiative if a natural disaster happened where they can prepare and what kind of products were in each Slaughter House to update the information in Public Health Information System (PHIS). My other task was to work in ODIFP to do Administrative work under and supervised by Deputy Assistant Administrator Soumaya Tohamy. I was tasked look over paperwork to make sure that they were correct and make any corrections as needed. I also contributed to the support of Record Management for the Office of the Assistant Administrator which was to decide which kind of work that has been done in ODIFP was to be archived or destroyed. At the end of my internship I received an award of Certificate of Appreciation for the contribution of the Record Management and Geographical Information System.

As a Marine my Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was Administrative Specialist, I worked for Installation Personnel Administrative Center (IPAC) for Separation and Orders. I typed up Form DD-214 and processed 800 Marines annually for people who were End of Active Service (EAS) or retiring obtaining their information thru Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS). I had to process the Marines advance payments and travel allowance before they were to leave the base and make sure he signed the paperwork such as life insurance, dental insurance, and Form DD-214. As an Administrator Specialist I had to make sure Record Management was updated with files date ordered and had to make sure Personal Identifiable Information (PII) was maintained with the files by destroying them after the limit of keeping the files. I also had to make sure that the share network was also updated. I am proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. My time in the Marine Corps I also obtained a Secret Clearance.
