I am currently doing my PhD under contract at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 in Paris, France. My research center is Langues et Civilisations à Tradition orale (LACITO) which is part of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique CNRS (National Scientific Research Center) of France, at its complex in Villejuif.My PhD dissertation is "A Grammar of Kibiri-Porome: An endangered isolate language of Papua New Guinea". My goal is to make a grammatical description (phonology, morphology, syntax) and to produce narrative texts of the Kibiri-Porome language, an endangered isolate spoken officaly by 1.180 speakers (http://endangeredlanguages.com/lang/10741; https://glottolog.org/resource/languoid/id/kibi1239) at Veiru, Doibo and Babeio villages, at Kikori Discrict, Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea. According to recent non-official information that came to me by March 2020, before the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic in PNG, this language might be currently being spoken by less than 50 people, most of which are 60 years old or more. Kibiri-Porome is a very poorly known language. So far the only available data are some wordlists of about a hundred entries, 6 phrases and an audio file of about 40 minutes recorded in the 80's. My work will consist of carrying out fieldwork at this villages and build a data base (corpus) of this language that allows us to know it more. After the PhD, I intend to carry out community revitalization projects that might help in keeping the language from totally disappearing. My work during this time was to transform into an electronic format (*.txt, Notepadd ++) the texts that Professor Sebastian Fedden (Paris 3 University) collected of the Mian language (Ok family, Trans New Guinea, Telefomin District, Sandaun Province, Papua New Guinea) during his PhD fieldwork between 2003 and 2005. I worked under the authority of Direction de la Recherche, de la Valorisation et des Études Doctorales (DiRVED). The content of the course and exercices were: - Syntax: the relative clause in French, identifiying word categories or parts of speech (noun, verb, adverb, etc) and function of the different types of phrases (Noun phrase, Verb phrase, Adjectival phrase, etc.), complements. - Articulatory phonetics: the apparatus of phonation, vowels and consonants, International Phonetic Alphabet. - Morfology: the notion of morpheme and its allomorphs.
