As a Professor of Entertainment and Media Law, I am helping law students to learn the basic concepts of entertainment law and the relationships between various parties in the entertainment, sports and media industries. My courses include the basic principles of the legal structure of the entertainment industry, legal analysis of deal structures in Recording and Music Publishing, Television, Film, Live Performance, Sports, Mass Media and Digital Technology as well as constitutional considerations relating to privacy rights, control of name and likeness, defamation and the regulation of intellectual property rights. Responsible for serving as co-host on daily afternoon drive show including researching, writing, preparing and delivering entertaining news headlines, political highlights, legal cases of interest in comprehensive yet easy to understand style for listening audience with emphasis on key demos. Served as Producer conceiving, developing, and executing timely and relevant content, campaigns, and events that drive engagement, alignment, action, and revenues. Frequently invited to speak on CNN, HLN, MSNBC, and Fox News channels as an expert on social justice, legal, and civil rights. Created content for digital platform including blogs, interview posts and relevant links to key content. Prepare and administer interviews with key entertainers, policy makers, government officials, educators, students and selected parties of interested. Also hosted "The Mo Ivory Show" on SiriusXM Radio.

Responsible for researching, writing, prepping and delivering news headlines, political highlights, legal cases and newsworthy articles to listening audience in comprehensive yet easy to understand style for morning show audience of one million listeners from 6am-10am daily on V-103FM and my own 3 hour talk radio show titled "The Mo Ivory Show" on 1380 WAOK. Managed and supervised production staff on all show prep, production and after show meetings. Wrote “Mo Knows” blog for CBS Radio with weekly and monthly publishing of blogs that set records for digital impressions across CBS Platforms in Atlanta and nationally. Well known for blog series “In Plain English” where I explained difficult topics in simple language (i.e. Crisis in Syria, Presidential Politics, etc.) Guests have included President Obama, top White House officials (Valerie Jarrett, Arnie Duncan, Valerie Jackson and Eric Holder), Colin Powell, Congressmen John Lewis, Hank Johnson, David Scott, Sanford Bishop, Lieutenant Gov. Casey Cagle, Maya Angelou, GA First Lady Sandra Deal, Chris Tucker, Spike Lee, Cam Newton, Stevie Wonder, Hank Aaron, Julius Irving and numerous others.

Overall responsibility included day to day operations and advising of Executive leader on coordination and execution of WMG’s 360° brand strategic initiatives for full revenue participation in artist contracts.Developed, supported and implemented business and compliance strategies, managed budgets, internal group training and program development while ensuring best practices in accordance with WMG corporate policies.Responsible for relationship building and community reputation management to preserve corporate branding goals and objectives and accurate progress reporting to executive leadership and Board of Directors.Participated in strategic planning meetings to foster collaborative development of revenue generating initiatives between WMG and non-profit organizations such as New Yorkers for Children, Junior Achievement, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, United Negro College Fund and others. Served as corporate liaison to key internal and external partners and responsible for internal/external communications. Served on the principal organizing committee for the “Jay-Z and Friends Charity Concert” held on September 11, 2009 at Madison Square Garden. Efforts resulted in raising over $1 million for the New York City Fire and Police Widow's Fund.  Worked on all aspects of the event including strategic planning, volunteer organization, media relations, sponsorship, merchandising, ticketing and event day coverage.

Owned and operated a real estate development firm specializing in the acquisition and development of residential and commercial properties in Georgia. Responsible for all business and legal matters including transactional matters with emphasis on purchase and sale agreements, leasing, confidentiality, marketing agreements and dispositions.

Served as Contract Attorney on 3 different contract assignments covering extended maternity leaves for in-house attorneys providing legal support for Cartoon Network, Television Production & Distribution and Turner Music & Classics departments. Advised on all legal matters including talent agreements, under-age parental controls and liability, licensing of Turner owned intellectual property, event agreements for Up-Fronts, travel authorizations, production liability forms, gaming, contesting, trademark and copyright deals relating to Turner music catalog. Reviewed marketing and advertising agreements, contests and sweepstakes for compliance with FTC laws, FCC regulations, COPPA and state specific requirements.

Provided legal support in areas of contract administration, procurement, vendor agreements, software licensing, contractor/third party employment contracts and overall contract compliance.Worked closely with General Counsel to draft sample forms and agreements for widespread legal department use in Procurement, Software and International Business sectors. Lead comprehensive data/security/privacy/e-data compliance analysis and presented findings to senior management.

Drafted lending documents in compliance with banking law.Engaged in due diligence and investigated truthfulness of statements provided by borrowers and internal document review.Worked to resolve privacy issues related to personal and confidential information, breaches of security and on-line technology advancements in the area privacy protection of confidential customer information. Reviewed and negotiated marketing, advertising and branding agreements relating to SunTrust sponsorships, corporate branding and consumer advertising materials raising issues of rights of publicity and compliance with FTC laws and FCC regulations.

Hired away from King & Spalding based on satisfactory representation.  Responsible for advising on all legal and business matters relating to several business units including Software Applications Development, Companywide Procurement/Purchasing, Media Networks and Sci-Care Service Group. Reviewed, negotiated and managed all vendor, consultant and contractor agreements to meet corporate compliance standards.Drafted and negotiated confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing arrangements and agreements with information technology consultants, software licensing and development agreements, service agreements, source code escrow agreements, copyright and trademark protections, internet advertising activities and co-branding agreements.Supervised legal contract managers in the maintenance of existing and new agreements specifically relating to payments provisions, term expirations and important milestone dates; presented weekly reports to company executives on various legal matters impacting their business units.

Associate on the Contracting Team responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing all transactional matters for numerous large firm clients including Home Depot, Coke, UPS, Turner and Georgia Pacific and Scientific-Atlanta.  Worked on loan at Scientific-Atlanta negotiating software technology agreements, marketing, advertising and branding agreements for corporate sponsorships, employee service events and annual corporate conference/exhibition hall participation.
