I spent the first 3+ years on active duty as a Stinger Missile crew member, which included combat action in the Persian Gulf War. I later went to the US ARMY Academy of Health Sciences and earned a technical certificate as a Physical Therapy Assistant while in the Wisconsin National Guard. After transfering to the Army Reserve, I went back to school on active duty at MATC Milwaukee where I earned an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy. I was mobilized for Iraqi Freedom in 2003, and ended up serving stateside for a short period of time. In 2008 I transferred to the IRR where I completed my 28 year US Army career.

Developed internal governance structure for the system which brought the strategic plan directly to the front-line staff in terms they coulld not only understand, but that they could get excited about. Conducted my third Lean Six Sigma deployment in this organization.Developed a dynamic, integrated performance evaluation system which resulted in increased employee satisfaction and higher function.

Actively participating as a performance excellence consultant and Lean deployment leader in a primary care system consisting of 10 clinics and 30 providers.
