As a filmmaker, I attempt to un-layer human's quest for identity & freedom. Fascinated by the power of storytelling, I aspire to utilize it in all endeavors and projects - to shape cultures and give meaning to our existence. I am the founder at Dastan films under which we produced, a short documentary titled ‘Maharajin’, which won 15+ awards across India and abroad including Los Angeles independent film festival. And later went onto be distributed on platforms like MUBI & Disney+Hotstar. We are currently working on our second production, a short documentary titled ‘Quest for a Home’ which inspects life and experiences of an artist from Kashmir who living in New York under self imposed exile. I come from a family of third generation educationists. With my background in design thinking, currently focused on discovering vibrant learning environments that recognise each student as an individual and developing communities that allows each student to nurture into leaders for tomorrow. At the core of all my endeavors there is a fundamental believe that ‘Stories create impact, if told.’
