I am the Founder and CEO of Mop Tech. A Chemical Engineer by profession with a specialisation in separations technology and process design. I have developed Intellectual property (FOR) that has garnered international recognition from the Royal Academy of Engineering, World Bank, UNIDO and Global Water Summit for applications in the water sector. At Mop Tech, our long term mission is to make drinking water universally more accessible. We work with water utilities, governments, NGOs and mines to make this a reality. The global socio-economic consequences associated with a lack of access to potable water are staggering. The environmental degradation caused through inefficiencies within the water treatment supply chain is polluting our environment, communities and atmosphere. Through our Deep Tech, circular economy process (FOR), we are able to make drinking water treatment cheaper while also contributing to the drive towards net zero. At scale, the technology will eliminate 22 million tonnes/year of CO2 emissions in addition to making drinking water treatment up to 30% cheaper.

Master Of Chemical EngineeringStellenbosch University Jan 2016 - Oct 2018Stellenbosch, Western CapeI conducted a green and sustainable engineering focused project. The objective of the project from an environmental outlook was to mitigate the disposal of aluminium from potable water treatment residuals in landfill sites and water bodies due to its potential harmful effects. From a municipal perspective, the objective was to determine cost effective methods for their coagulation and flocculation operations. The solution for both objectives resulted in the selective recovery and reuse (in coagulation and flocculation operations) of aluminium from potable water treatment residuals utilising membrane separation technology. -
