Molly is in her final semester as a student at Northern Michigan University studying Social Media Design Management and German. She is set to graduate from NMU in December 2024. She comes from Midland, Michigan and enjoys reading, writing, all things arts and crafts, photography and learning new things in her free time. Molly's love of journalism started with taking journalism classes in her freshman year at Herbert Henry Dow High School. Molly immediately fell in love with everything about the field, from interviews, making connections and beyond. In her subsequent three years as Managing Features Editor of the school's paper, Update, Molly began honing her skills in traditional print journalism, column writing, print page design, photography and newsroom leadership. Her favorite stories to write are profiles of everyday people. She loves the intimate, personal aspect of telling peoples’ stories. Molly is now an avid photographer and digital artist, stemming from her love of graphic design and photojournalism. Molly currently works as the Digital Anchor at WLUC TV6 & FOX UP, leading the TV6 Digital Desk and growing the station’s digital audience in the evening on the station's website, social media and streaming platforms. She contributes to TV6's First Look newscast (5 p.m. ET) through the 'First Look at the Web' segment, where Molly takes a look at trending national headlines and headlines from TV6's social media pages. She also produces, anchors and directs a daily live stream from the TV6 Digital Desk. There, Molly catches viewers up on top headlines from the day. Molly also sub-anchors and produces evening newscasts on an as-needed basis, including TV6's Night Report (10 p.m. EST), Late News (11 p.m. EST). You can also spot her around the U.P. working in the field as a reporter for TV6 on some occasions! Molly began her college journey at Northern Michigan University in August 2021. She will graduate from Northern Michigan University in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Media Design Management, less than two years after she began her career at WLUC TV6 & Fox UP. Molly is excited to continue working with the amazing team at TV6 after graduation to further her experience in broadcast journalism!
