This role was a stepping stone towards full-time work, which many people new in Vancouver do. The AFGL business model provides locum staff to busy companies in the construction industry. I was lucky to mainly work with the team at Platinum Pro-Claim Restoration (PPCR), where I built a relationship with the team who eventually head-hunted me from AFGL and I then transitioned to being staff of PPCR.

In this role I drove and led private tours of up to 6 people around the highlights of Vancouver. This role was a great way to get to know and love my new city, and to meet people from all over the world visiting Vancouver. Each tour offered a completely different experience for both myself and the guests as we learned so much from each other throughout the tour.

In this role, I worked on Trident II, K2M, Cascadia Lateral and Baseplate products and documentation, and inspect measurements, density and porosity of these products, preparing products for the next step. I also took the opportunity to join the Emergency Response Team. We trained regularly in emergency response skills, such as application and maintenance of breathing apparatus and personal protective equipment for use in fire and smoke, chemical control, psychological response to emergency situations, extinguishing fires and operation of fire hydrants.
