I am a qualified RVN with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and Companion Animal Behaviour BSc from Bristol University. Throughout my course I have completed varying placements within first opinion and referral hospitals which has enabled me to view a wide range of cases. I am passionate, dedicated and have a keen interest in surgical nursing and anaesthesia which I have been able to progress with various CPD events and at my current workplace. I have recently become a student representative for RCVS accreditation panels which has expanded my knowledge of the RCVS standards for veterinary nurses and I hope to bring this knowledge to future practices and SVN’s in the future. I am very excited to begin working as an RVN and make a difference in the veterinary industry.

Referral PlacementLangford Vets Sep 2021 - Mar 2022Langford, England, United KingdomDuring 6 months at Langford referral hospital, I rotated through various departments and wards including surgery, ICU, anaesthesia and imaging. During my time at Langford I saw a variety of exciting cases and was able to get involved with care plans for inpatients. I particularly enjoyed my surgical rotations, scrubbing into innovative surgeries and acting as scrub nurse. This placement improved my time management, team building and communication skills due to the large nature of the hospital and the importance of clear communication for the safety of patients. My time at Langford further proved my desire to eventually working in a referral hospital when I have obtained more experience. -
