I am currently within Blundstone's graduate program. Over the past 2.5 years i have worked in Marketing, Sales, Global Brand Services, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), Finance, IT and will soon conclude my placements in People & Culture. The continual rotation through different areas of the business has allowed extensive opportunity to diversify and cement my skills, enabling me to be adaptable to different teams, leadership styles and schools of thought.This role is extremely beneficial for a young professional such as myself who requires exposure to industry and wants to maximise learning and development in the early years of my career. The program is structured so that you can gain skills in areas such as Marketing, Sales, IT, Logistics, Brand, ESG, Management & Finance. Throughout the program you are exposed to and encouraged to participate in training and development relevant to your current department. The predominant aim of this program isn't just to find the area where your skills shine and excel the most, but to also begin prepping you for leadership roles in the future. This is achieved through gaining a thorough and unique understanding of the core units operating within Blundstone and being given opportunity to be involved in the Business Leadership Group meetings and workshops. I am now over three quarters through the program and have been able to broaden my confidence, skills and knowledge in not only the individual departments but the borader business context.

I begun this role as a good way to develop relevant skills whilst studying a Bachelor of Business. My role was in the Accounts Payable division with periodic work for the Accounts Receivable division.My predominant responsibility was data entry and reconciliation between purchase orders and invoices recieved. This role meant that i also needed to communicate with people both internal and external to the university via email to resolve any issues or discrepancies between records.For a period i also conducted work for the accounts receivable division by generating and sending invoices to suppliers and responding to requests in the ServiceNow portal. This meant i was exposed to a variety of different functions within the Fianance department and was able to expand my learning through the ServiceNow tickets raised. This role was a great introduction for me into the realm of finance and provided me with opportunity to improve my communication skills and my ability to use and navigate new systems and softwares.

I undertook a marketing assistant role to promote and communicate the annual Junction Arts Festival, a festival that is located and originates in Launceston, Tasmania. Within this role i operated under the guidance of the Marketing & Partnerships Manager.I was required to utilise various different applications such as Instagram and Mail chimp in order to plan, design and communicate the 5 day festival. I was also required to liaise and communicate with the other members of the Junction team to coordinate and complete tasks.As part of the marketing role i communicated with key stakeholders such as partners and customers in regards to ticketing, queries and event information. During the festival i continued communications by managing festival signage and completing EDM's and Instagram posts.
