Researching large-scale gaseous detonations within a shock tube.

Graduate teaching assistant for Introduction to Aerospace Engineering and Aircraft Performance (taught by Dr. Pat Artis and Dr. Wm. Michael Butler).Held office hours for students to get help with homework and answer questions about concepts. Created homework quizzes in the class' learning management system, Canvas, to help students put concepts into practice, get feedback on their work faster, and increase efficiency for both students and GTAs with online submission. I also worked with other GTAs to grade homework and exams and had the opportunity to help with boost glider launches.Students gain hands-on knowledge from the boost glider project where they design and build small boosters and gliders that attach to them. The booster launches with the glider which is detached by the motor's ejection charge and then glides to the ground. Students also learn about the operating environment and standard atmosphere, basic aerodynamics, airfoils and wings, aircraft performance, stability and control, space flight, and propulsion.

Lead patrons through the elevated obstacle course. Took patrons on the ziplines. Lead Explorer Tours (paintball, archery, climbing tower, and pedal carts). Harnessed patrons before they went on the ziplines or climbing. Belayed for the climbing tower and giant ladder. Checked patrons in at the store, check out patrons, and restock the store.

I worked on Dr. Sevak Tahmasian's double vibrational pendulum project. I did the design of the mechanism that demonstrates linear dynamics. I designed it using Autodesk Inventor and created 2D drawings that the AOE Machine shop used to make the parts I designed. Shear stress calculations were used to ensure that the links would not fracture when oscillated at high frequencies. The next step in our project is to put it together and begin testing.

Taught a class to sophomore engineering students in the Galipatia Living Learning Community on how to design competitions for the freshmen to attend. We also taught them how to plan and lead events and write an after-event report on how the event went and what they would change for next time. Competition design focused on designing rules that would guide how students would interact with the competition whether it would be to require them to use certain materials or to get them to think outside the box.

I worked in the studio inside Lee Hall where I taught students how to design a dog tag in Inkscape then use a CNC to carve it into aluminum. I got new students every week and after successfully competing my training would be able to come to the studio and use the CNC any time they want.

I helped freshmen students adjust to life on campus and help them find resources they need to succeed. We met once a week to talk about what they needed to do for the Galipatia class and for upcoming tests. Mentors met with the Mentor Liaisons to get advice on how to best help our mentees. They provided us with mental health resources, academic resources, and networking resources to give our mentees.
