• Developing novel gene expression matrix projection functions for three joint decomposition methods in the SJD package in R for comparing neural stem cell development processes between in vivo and in vitro data; Utilized R programming, cluster computing, and matrix factorization techniques in the field of computational biology. • Analyzing publicly available single-cell RNA-seq datasets on asthma by clustering genes based on topological overlap and correlating genes with clinical traits using WGANA; Utilized network comparison and enrichment analysis tools to discover new genes that are associated with asthma. • Reporting to directly and working together with 2 principal investigators (PI) on each of the projects above.

I was working as a lab manager for Structual Biology of Cells Lab course. I helped my group of students with procedures of lab assignments.

• Produced and managed multiple music events on the JHU campus, including 6 pop-up concerts, a spring fair concert featuring over 30 performers and 300 attendees, and several karaoke events. • Solely responsible for managing all aspects of sound equipment; Provided expert technical support on equipment rentals, set-up, and operations before, during, and after performances.• Performed in pop-up concerts and Spring Fair 2022 & 2023.

• Coordinated 2 Asian medicine summer summits with over 200 attendees each; planned journal clubs and field trips to local practitioners and led small group discussions to educate people on Traditional Asian Medicine.

• Built a pipeline (in Python) for using machine learning methods to calculate fire risk scores based on weather, topographical, and vegetation information to help landowners prevent wildfire.• Collaborated with front-end and back-end engineers, and launched the fire risk assessment tools on company website.

• Work on the Haptic Touch project that designs tactile sensory gloves and vibrotactile feedback stickers for amputees.• Design flexible PCB, prototype, program microcontrollers with Arduino, and testing gloves and stickers.

I work as a biomedical enginner intern at Esurgi. I lead the hardware team and imporved the biostabilizer design by designing and implementing PCBs, which resolved the stability issue and made the product smaller and lighter.

• Translated Epoch, a gene regulatory network reconstruction package from R to Python; Utilized generalized additive model to compute dynamically expressed genes across pseudo-time; Reconstructed dynamic gene regulatory networks; Predict top regulators by computing PageRank; Integrated signaling pathways by finding the shortest paths. • Applied statistical tests, curve fitting, graph theory, and data visualization techniques to support tool development.

Worked as an intern at Dr. Elizabeth Kellogg's research lab on the subject of genetic engineering.• Used gene extracting and data analyzing skills in the research about the effects of mutations on the phenotype of different kinds of Setaria viridis plants. • Completed one research paper for the project “Genotyping and Phenotypic Characterization of the Shattering1 Mutant in Setaria Viridis”; attended weekly lectures by scientists in a variety of fields. • Gave a public talk on my research project.
