The Office of the Solicitor is statutorily charged to commence and prosecute all suits brought by the County where any rights, privileges, claims or demands of the County are involved. We also manage or defend all actions or suits brought against the County. In addition to litigation, we are involved in real estate tax assessment appeals, land use planning, real estate transactions, statutory interpretation, contract review, and collecive bargaining matters. We provide advice to the Commissioners and other County offices, and serve as Solicitor to the Board of Elections, the Board of Assessment Appeals, and the Prison Board.
