I advise and participate in design at any stage, from concept through deliverable, including engineering and manufacturing. Project examples are:Architecture:- Redesign the landscape of Oregon State University with Cameron McCarthy Architects- Redesign all intersections and re-route all water systems, electrical utilities, steam tunnel and gas lines to move thirteen blocks fifteen feet out of the right of way of railroadDesign & Engineering:- Created a men's all mountain snowboard line for Deviation Ski & Snowboard, generating $40,000 in sales

Lola's is an entrepreneurial venture making fresh organic cocktail mixers. As founder, I built a product based (CPG) business from the ground up, creating vision, direction, and strategy. I surveyed markets, created packaging, and established brand position. In this role, I:- grew from a market stall to all Market of Choice and PNW Whole Foods stores- achieved FDA approval, making Lola's the only ready to drink (RTD) shrub maker in the U.S.

As faculty I taught design studio and coursework exploring topics such as socio-cultural background, materials, design and manufacturing process. My specialist field was universal design and my research created a comprehensive guide for designers to make objects and environments more inclusive.

At K2 I was responsible for engineering design, manufacturing and graphic production for all K2 brand snowboards. Our manufacturing facility was in Guangzhou, China, and I spent three months a year there. In my role I:- Innovated one of the industry's first female specific snowboards, designed for a woman's lower center of gravity, lighter weight and smaller feet- Innovated a women's wood core, for the industry's lightest snowboard and K2's best-selling line- Was written about in The New York Times

Test Engineering Project Manager 2000-2001Test Engineering planned and managed QA test equipment projects. These machines were integrated at critical points in an immense Kansan manufacturing facility. In my role I:- Improved on time delivery 20% by engaging sub-contractors in the planning process- Reduced cost overruns $75,000 in a $1.5M budget by more accurately forecasting sub-contractor workloadsDesign Engineer, Metal Chemical Vapor Deposition (MCVD) 1999-2000As a design engineer, I designed any non-standard orders. Each design was essentially a prototype, and integrating it into a just-in-time manufacturing facility required engineering skill, research and planning.

Work at BAE was highly collaborative, hands-on and experimental. Our five person interdisciplinary product development team pushed BAE to the forefront of this field with two multi-national award winning projects.
