In my current position I am the SEN Lead at The Complete Works school. I oversee the education of students with SEN and EHCPs. This entails coordinating annual review meetings, and supporting parents/carers and teachers.Prior to this I was a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at St. John XXIII Catholic Primary School in White City, London. I was in a 1:1 role with a year 4 pupil with ASD and other complex needs. It was a very challenging but valuable experience, and it entailed me spending time working with the local Educational Psychologist, as well as Speech and Language therapists and working very closely alongside the SENCO. From 2016-2019 I was a student at Swansea University and gained an undergraduate degree in Psychology; achieving a 2.1. I then went on to complete an MSc in Child Development at University College London (UCL); achieving a distinction (2020/2021) - in both my degree and dissertation.During this time, from 2019-2021, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Limpsfield Grange School in Oxted, Surrey and continued to do this part time whilst I was studying. It is a school specialising in girls with Autism and is the only one of its kind in Europe. I found this a massively rewarding experience. This is the field that I am passionate about and I would like to pursue a career in. I am friendly and approachable, and my professional work experience so far has taught me resilience and patience as well as good time management. I spent 3 months travelling around South America, which increased my confidence and was an incredible, eye-opening experience. I returned in May 2023 eager to continue work where I can make a difference in children’s lives and education.
