CurrentMolly currently serves as one of four principals at the Texas office of Husch Blackwell Strategies, a lobby and public affairs firm located in eight states and Washington D.C. Her role allows her to work with clients across all industries to recognize legislative, budgetary, and procurement goals and how to maneuver for success. By strategically advising key decision makers in state government with facts, insights, and strategies to make well-informed decisions, allows her clients to advance and protect their various industries. In this role, Molly directs bills and budget riders through the Texas legislature, by: drafting legislation, amendments, communication materials, and talking points for clients, legislators, and other interest groups; securing legislators as sponsors for legislation that support client goals; connecting legislative committees with experts necessary to provide input on relevant legislative matters; regularly monitoring legislation and other events that can impact clients’ industries; and working with the executive branch to guide legislation through the veto process Molly maintains strategic communications in high-pressure situations with clients, legislators, colleagues, and others to ensure cohesiveness between parties. She also is able to pinpoint emerging procurement opportunities for clients and guides them through the process of government contracting. Furthermore, she monitors business development in Texas to identify new business opportunities for prospective clients to expand their government affairs presence in Texas.
