I work with all level of hospital staff – from nurses to the CEO – in the development of Tableau dashboards and detailed analyses in support of both operational and financial analysis. This work has included requirements gathering, data model design, building dashboards, and working with stakeholders to develop KPIs.A significant percentage of my work effort focuses on Population Health in support of the hospital’s relationship with our state’s ACO for Medicare and Medicaid patients. This has included Population Health research for the hospital service area and the use of ICD-10 and CPT codes in modeling.My work has also included supporting the hospital’s Health Equity efforts, Nursing Magnate reporting, data governance, data quality, and census analysis in support or physical space utilization.

Routinely built Tableau dashboards for the analysis of student learningAuthored an internal website (and the SQL Server database behind it) to capture and analyze student learning. This site, was designed to look and feel the way teachers like to work (on paper) but had all the power of a transactional system with reporting designed to do longitudinal analysis.Managed the student usernames for all internal and external applications as well as integrated data content from external sources to pull back into our internal reporting systems.

Part of the AM1 Services Team working mostly on enterprise e-Notebook migrations. Projects have been for a variety of CambridgeSost customers: Eastman Chemical, Merck, BMS, Infineum, Infinity, Cubist, Broad Institute, Constellation, Firmenich, and ATMI.Indirectly part of the enterprise core team to develop migration scripts for the e-Notebook enterprise product.A member of the e-Notebook Performance project helping to create the test-bed database as well as help design the testing process and analyze data.Ad-hoc development work for extracting data from the e-notebook - work has included a specific product for Abbott as well as a general tool.

• Implemented one of the first successful electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems for both chemistry and biology drug discovery.This required daily interaction with end users to build trust in the ELN system to capture and protect their scientific findings. The end user group was comprised of research interns through PhD scientists - many of whom were not computer savvy. Close work was required with the software vendor (CambridgeSoft) to adapt the software to Infinity’s needs as well as troubleshoot problems and implement custom integrations (developed by Infinity). My work in e-notebooks has garnered invitations to speak in both the US and in Europe.• Responsible for coordinating the production of all of Infinity’s combinatorial libraries.Working as part of a small team I helped to invent a mechanism to make and track combinatorial libraries. Initially my work in this area involved hands-on, daily involvement with laboratory personnel to integrate third party and custom software with scientific instrumentation and databases. As we built out the system my focus shifted to project management, software enhancement, and data mining.• Work closely with multiple scientific and business groups to help collate and visualize hundreds of thousands of data points to enable better decisions in Infinity’s drug discovery process.• Prototype new software to enhance the work environment for Infinity’s scientists - if the ad-hoc solution is embraced by the scientist then my work shifts to helping the software coders build and enhance the tools to be production grade. Projects have included algorithms to detect synthetic side products in LCMS data and detector enhancement.• Software help desk – Infinity’s informatics group is very small and we all pitch in to help resolve end user issues.• Scientific software and instrument maintenance – this involves working closely with vendors to manage upgrades and troubleshoot problems.

• Worked on two research projects geared towards developing non-absorbed polymeric anti-obesity drugs. Responsibilities included preparation of small molecule precursors, polymeric drugs, and scale-up of lead candidates.• Responsible for maintaining several databases within my research group (in-vitro, in-vivo, analytical, and synthetic data).• Co-author US Patent Application 09/226,585 ‘Lipase Inhibiting Polymers’• Responsible for managing community solvent supply for chemical research labs; includes three research groups, and a scale-up group. Negotiated vendor contracts to reduce costs by 50%.

• Worked on eleven research projects geared towards developing novel low stress epoxy thermosets for Ablestik Laboratories (Rancho Dominguez, CA). Projects included synthesis of novel monomers and precursors as well as development and interpretation of analytical and physical testing methods.• Acted as Technical Support between Ablestik Laboratories, Corporate Research, a Toll Manufacturer, and Salisbury Process Development for problems concerning plant production of low stress resins. Projects have included process changes, quality control, sheer thinning index (rheology), and resin color.• Authored four internal papers and nine talks.• Co-authored “Reactivity of Glycidyl Esters Under Simulated Cure Conditions” poster presented at a symposium in honor of Prof. Gillum at Princeton University as well as at 1996 Gordon Conference.• Responsible for the training of three new chemists within my research group.• Developed seven novel HPLC methods for the separation of complex mixtures. Projects included analysis of competitive die attach adhesive formulations.• Responsible for maintaining the chemical inventory database, MSDS database, and all lab supplies for a small research group.
