Did your career simply fall into your lap? Well, in my case, it did.Nobody heads off to college thinking, "I'm going to become a Recruiter and dive into the world of Staffing business." My initial plan was to emerge as a high-powered advertising executive straight out of the Mad Men era.However, destiny had different plans for me when I took on my first "grown-up" job after college, selling phonebook advertising. Little did I know, it was far less glamorous than I had envisioned – with cold lunches eaten in my car (which doubled as my office), and the unnerving experience of almost being attacked by a dog while approaching a home-based business. Yikes!This setback steered me towards my current career. The staffing business was not unfamiliar territory; my first summer job at 16 was as an administrative assistant at my hometown staffing agency, Burton Placement Services. I distributed weekly paychecks to light industrial workers and handled phone calls.Fast forward seven years to 2007, I took on a role as a Staffing Manager for Office and Accounting jobs with RemX Staffing in Oakbrook, IL – marking the beginning of my career journey.Over the past 15 years, I've worked for various firms spanning multiple industries, specializing in multiple niches and verticles. A significant portion of my recruiting career was spent with Accounting Principals, now known as LHH, where I was part of a highly successful team. I received the "MVP" recognition in 2016 and 2017 and achieved the "Champions Club" distinction in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.The next pivotal and rewarding chapter in my career unfolded in 2018 when I was approached to work for a franchised staffing firm, Express Employment International, as a Developer Representative in recruiting. Collaborating with 28 franchises across 4 states, I focused on training franchisees and staff on recruiting and business acumen.In 2020, I transitioned to the professional division of EEP, Specialized Recruiting Group (SRG). My Team and I are entrusted with the mission to grow and develop our professional franchises by providing leadership, training, and development in sales, recruiting, and operations. Exciting times lie ahead with SRG.Reflecting on the past years, it's been a rollercoaster ride, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Not only have I grown professionally, but I've also grown as an individual. There's no greater satisfaction than assisting business owners in achieving success and helping individuals find their dream jobs – truly the best job in the world!
