As an intern at the Chicago Tribune, I wrote more than 60 stories over the course of a three-month internship, including a number of page 1 stories and several enterprise stories I pitched to desk editors. I focused on education news, covering Chicago's first school board race and Chicago Public Schools and its relationship with the teachers union, mayoral administration and more. I also reported on emerging news and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, for which I covered local politicians' involvement in the convention.

As a research assistant for journalist Elly Fishman, I conducted research, interviews and fact-checking for a series of WBEZ Chicago articles about the mental and physical challenges associated with new motherhood. Much of this work has culminated in the creation of a Resource Guide for new parents.
