TRPM8 is a membrane protein found in humans. It is involved in cold sensation and implicated in a number of cancers and diseases. During my research I did cloning, expression testing, purification, circular dichroism studies, and nuclear magnetic resonance studies of a construct of the protein containing only the pore domain in order to begin determining how ligands bind to the channel. I Defended an honors thesis and a Master's Thesis on research conducted in the lab.

STUDENT COORDINATOR-Promoted in August 2016 to assist in overseeing the program as a whole. I collected and presented data to faculty in order to develop improved utilization and retention strategies, as well as define program goals and develop workflow analyses to meet them. I assisted in the hiring of new employees, while also conducting on-going evaluations of current employees.SUPERVISOR-Promoted in March 2015 to oversee 30+ employees who provide SI support accessible to over 10,000 students. This involved organizing and leading workshops on topics such as marketing, using time efficiently, or simplifying jargon. INSTRUCTOR-I analyzed areas of difficulty in high-risk biology classes and created detailed lesson plans to review that content with students. I developed close and sincere relationships with students in order to encourage them to return to my review sessions. As a result, the utilization rate of my course rose by 46.7% and students who attended my sessions had a GPA that was a statistically significant 0.43 GPA points higher.

I conducted EEG tests on a variety of studies including the investigation of the role of the prefrontal cortex in conflict resolution and an Air Force funded project investigating the neural correlates of trust. I also performed behavioral studies on the neural correlates of pain and the impact on cognitive control. I conducted statistical analyses and summarized findings for publishing.
