I managed the brand portfolios for the Anthropology, Art, and Music Disciplines, which represented over $50 million yearly. Using data analytics and competitive analysis, I positioned Cengage Learning's digital learning solution, MindTap, in all 3 disciplines. Dusting off my English degree, I wrote product messaging for each market, ensuring MindTap would resonate for all customers.

My job was to ensure our new digital products would be adopted by professors. I conducted over 100 digital focus groups and surveys yearly for a $10 million list of new titles. Using data-driven trial and error, including analysis of response rates and email open rates, I streamlined the market development process, making it more efficient and increasing ROI.

I developed my company’s first successful social media initiatives, including a video contest and a blog partnering with Psychology Today. These initiatives explored new ways of reaching customers in the rapidly evolving Higher Ed industry, and they became the standard for the company.I led Cengage Psychology’s social media strategy on all platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube, growing Cengage Learning’s online presence by 400% in six months.

I planned and executed over 50 targeted regional marketing events for the Psychology list, working with sales managers, product managers, and marketing managers within the company to facilitate event budgets, venues, and promotion. The events were hugely successful, earning an average ROI of 45:1. Over 250 Psychology Professors attended these events, and I worked to make sure they all left knowing (and loving!) the Cengage Brand.
