- Participated in an interdisciplinary research team, which utilized consensus-based code and theme development of data- Completed training (approx 18 hours) on (a) the coding approach used for the study (i.e., thematic content analysis; Boyatzis, 1999; Cho, 2014), (b) varying approaches (e.g., critical, pragmatic, etc.) to aspects of qualitative research design (e.g., ontology, axiology), and (c) rural culture in the Midwest United States. Training activities included readings, group discussion, self-reflection, and experiential group activities.- Transcribed interview audio files- Developed codes (individually, in dyads, and in a large group) based on semi-structured interview audio and transcript- Created themes (individually, in dyads, and in a large group) for codes for individual transcripts and the entire dataset
