Vice President, Program Operations
CurrentOne of six Senior Staff reporting to the President & CEO leading $40M workforce development nonprofit social enterprise of 230 staff across five geographies. Establish vision and strategy for organization. Responsible for core programming, serving 6,500+ systemically excluded low-income and unstably housed clients annually with job readiness skills, individualized support, and resources to navigate barriers to the workforce to secure employment. Provide cross functional management, directing two Assistant Vice Presidents and overseeing 70 staff and 175 volunteers. Make presentations to and reports for Board of Directors and Program Committee. • Entrusted with goal of doubling client job outcomes in line with Strategic Plan leading to increased primary outcome of clients securing jobs by 47% to 2,552 in three years. Empowered Directors, established vision and collaborative goal setting process, implemented new staffing model, updated course curriculum, and increased attention to employee wellbeing. • Expanded services to fulfill unmet needs. Added two new offices, serving new County and co-locating in Probation’s Reentry Opportunity Center, DOORS. • Designed and led process to develop a two-year Strategic Plan, in response to changing nature of business after pandemic. Included facilitating working sessions, writing final document, and creating implementation plan. Spearheaded efforts to develop organization’s first Diversity Equity and Inclusion Action Plan. • Developed client training program to upskill clients in industries, such as IT and green jobs, leading to living wage jobs through $5M grant including development of program model through partnership with LA County Office of Diversion and Reentry. • Led IT Department as Interim Vice President of IT during leadership transition that coincided with start of pandemic. Grew team under new structure, increased team morale, and established infrastructure to transition 180 onsite employees to working remotely.
