My passions have long circled around understanding how both the world and the people in it work, and more importantly, on making it work better. In my experiences across academic, non-profit, and state government settings, I have seen firsthand the importance of teamwork and a flexible, creative mindset in bringing community-focused work to life. I know well the patience and hope one needs to bring to this work to continue providing the best support we can to those we serve, and I am never more satisfied than when I can embody these traits in the time that I devote to others. As I pursue higher education in public health, I hope to build a deeper knowledge of the skills needed to find innovative, prevention-based solutions to the issues faced by our communities at home and abroad.
