My Co-Editor and I were solely responsible for hiring staff, managing the publication's budget and negotiating our printing contracts, as well as coordinating with advertisers, the Students' Association and the University to ensure the sustainability of the magazine. We also redesigned the publication's website, working closely with a web designer to overhaul the site. At the Aotearoa Student Press Association Awards 2013, our publication won first place awards for Best Feature, Best Feature Writer, Best News Writer (Unpaid), Best Website, Best Sports Writer and Best Headline. The publication placed second overall and picked up a number of second- and third-placings in other categories. -
