My short yet incredibly rewarding time at Hunger Task Force was my first experience in formal hunger relief efforts. As the seasonal Development Assistant, I coordinated the Food for Families food drives and Holiday Card fundraising program. I also assisted in the planning and execution of several large-scale events including a week-long telethon, a drive-through food drive at the State Fair Park and a school competition with 100 participating schools. I furthermore provided administrative support to other fundraising efforts including grant writing, promotions on Facebook, donor acknowledgements and volunteer recruitment.
