I currently study an IBMS-accredited biomedical science bachelor's degree at Sheffield Hallam University and shortly moving on to my integrated masters in science starting in September 2024. This degree has enhanced my practical and personal skills, such as research, independence and time management. Completing my final year research project in the analytical science sector, it has given me broader knowledge and skills in the research side of biosciences, such as problem-solving and analytical thinking.I did a placement at the Sheffield Children's Hospital as a trainee biomedical scientist in the clinical biochemistry department. During this, I have completed my IBMS portfolio. This placement gave me an insight into a clinical lab and the self-discipline a biomedical scientist needs.
