I was selected by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a cultural ambassador grant recipient. With this grant, I worked all over Spain (Jaen, Gijon, Piedras Blancas, La Felguera) providing culture and language instruction to a wide variety of students. The Spanish government's aim in providing this grant is to promote positive inter-cultural mindsets in Spanish learners and to improve their English conversation levels. This position not only gave me the tools to engage students across cultural and linguistic barriers, but also gave me the opportunity to learn about the culture, history and people spanning across all of Spain, from the south to the north.

The University of Minnesota Spanish Department hired me as the sole Undergraduate Representative on a board of Spanish history and culture professors to provide research and perspective for developing and designing a new culture and history class in the Spanish department. I provided relevant content and enhanced the course website on Moodle, software educators use to build online courses.

I individually led a Spanish conversation group for second year Spanish students at the University of Minnesota. I was responsible for structuring and developing engaging activities to improve their conversation skills.

As a medical interpreter I accompanied Spanish-speaking patients to their medical appointments and hospital visits from start to finish. I filled out medical forms on their behalf in by performing sight translations, facilitated communications with nurses and doctors, and scheduled their future appointments, all through consecutive interpretation. I also conducted at-home social work visits with social workers for children with special educational needs.
