Airspace simulation platforms and content – day-to-day management of Maescape and TRG simulators. First point of contact for SW/HW faults, incident tracking, escalating hardware failures to the appropriate ENG teams. Assisting instructors with exercise validation and implementing change requests. Developed multiple software tools which make creating, randomising and validating exercise content faster. [PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Bash, JIRA]Simulation platform development – created the CHIP 2.0 tool, which allows instructors to alter an exercise as required, introduce emergencies or request specific aircraft actions. This tool reduces costs by running on cheaper hardware, reduces the support burden on the Engineering team and enhances the capability of the TRG platform. It also offers more customisation options compared to the old version, and is easier to update. Integrated with existing applications. [Java, PHP, JavaScript, RHEL admin]Developed a web-based replica of our sim VCS and integrated it with existing systems – enabled training of ab-initio students during COVID pandemic by having pilots work from home. [PHP, SQL, JavaScript, WebRTC, Bash, Chrome extensions, AWS admin, Git]Planning and organising – day-to-day supervision of a team of 20 simulator pilots, ensuring all training slots are adequately staffed, arranging short-notice extra duties to cover unexpected absences. Developed the new online roster tool which facilitates duty assignment and swaps, as well as improving access for end-users. [PHP, SQL, JavaScript, C#, Git, Cordova mobile apps]Liaising with ENG for software testing and acceptance, debugging of existing tools, identifying weaknesses, incremental improvements and development of new tools. Developed a web application which replaces some functions of the old tools, providing a graphical representation of flight trajectories on a map and adding support for new sectors.
