Mona is seeking out positions in the business and development side of the biotechnology industry. Her interests include program/project management, drug development, regulatory coordination, and strategic planning and operation.Most recently, Mona worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense developing prophylactic and therapeutic countermeasures for soldiers. Although her title was “Science Manager,” Mona’s responsibilities included strategic negotiations with stakeholders and leadership to defend program funding, implementing DoD acquisition for three separate drug products, overseeing clinical trials, researching and negotiating FDA regulation on advanced drug development under the Animal Rule, developing program budgets and overseeing all finance decisions, executing contracts and other solicitations, and presenting to stakeholders including the joint staff (Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force).Mona’s interest in biotechnology and drug development was sparked by a high school honors genetics class. She majored in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin and later founded a DJ and dance company while attending Johns Hopkins University, where she earned an MS/MBA in biotechnology.In her spare time, Mona enjoys DJing special events and teaching cultural dance classes. She also plays bass guitar and loves to sing. Her Briggs-Myers personality type is Extraversion, Intuition, Thinking, Judging (ENTJ) lending herself to a leader/manager/organizer nature.
