Born and raised a BBC (British Born Chinese) diagnosed with dyslexia later in life taught me to become observant, empathetic and strategic in nature, fascinated by human behaviour, culture, empowerment and learning. My passions and career values include:1) Providing an inclusive and accessible service that facilitates holistic well-being on an individual and community level.2) Continually learning and partnering with essential/keyworkers, disadvantaged and/or marginalised people groups to dismantle barriers and increase awareness and understanding. Using evidence-based information I aim to clarify and raise people's awareness of holistic health. Many people have acquired their knowledge about health from podcasts, conversations, health care practitioners, social media etc but in fragments, lacking a wider context and understanding to implement and sustain the content and see long-term progress. This causes even the most well meaning and dedicated to give up. Working with people in the community, education and sales sectors I observed three common factors that impacted the ability to engage with and sustain healthy habits:1) Communication: the language and tools used to deliver the information must be accessible to the audience in order for them to understand and engage with the content. The same information e.g. posture, stress, sleep habits etc... presented to an adult, child, single parent, student, neuro-diverse or non-English speaking audience will be different, catered to their specific needs and context.2) Solutions: must be tailored and accessible to their existing lifestyle, level of progress and personality otherwise they will be too difficult to achieve and maintain.3) Consistency and accountability: starting and sticking with a habit are two different journeys. Whether we benefit most from working alongside others or independently via an app or physical log, the most successful habit breaking and making is made more successful it can be tracked at regular intervals. Being able to monitor and interact with the process keeps an individual accountable and engaged.We can no longer solely rely on health care professionals for our wellbeing. There simply isn't enough resources or practitioners available. I started my business to normalise holistic practice within the community. I believe that by increasing access to services and support in society e.g. workplaces, cafes and other community spaces we can equip individuals with the means to look after their wellbeing, break barriers around health, boost morale and much more.
