Dr. Mona Nour (she/her) is the host of the Belonging Reimagined podcast, creator of the Belonging Integration™️ model, and founder of Nour Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. She is Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Adjunct Professor, who has held numerous roles over the last 20 years in consulting, counseling, advising, administration, and teaching at the university and community college levels. Dr. Nour completed a Ph.D. in Counseling & Counselor Education from NC State University, and her special interests include belonging, cultural identity development and integration, student and employee engagement, education research, and consulting in various settings, including corporate, secondary, and post-secondary. She earned her master’s degree in counseling/student personnel in higher education after a career in economics, and provides telemental health counseling services with a special focus on identity development, integration, and shedding. She has developed and delivered psychoeducational and academic curricula to high school and college students, both face-to-face and online. In her role as administrator for joint high school-college programs, she supervised faculty and staff members, as well as facilitated business alliances. She has served as an educational consultant to revamp higher education programs, specifically regarding culturally-centered curriculum development, policy, and procedures aimed at fostering student development both academically and psychosocially. Dr. Nour conducted a qualitative research project for an independent high school in China, as well as a doctoral mentoring and belonging study for NC State University. She has also conducted studies on bicultural identity integration for individuals from recent immigrant backgrounds, as well as research on identity development for individuals of Middle Eastern/North African descent. She has presented at numerous state and regional conferences, and co-authored two book chapters on counselor cultural competence when working with Arab American individuals, couples, and families in various counseling settings. She has co-authored a book chapter for higher education practitioners on developing creative group services on college campuses, and currently serves as an author and co-editor on counseling mixed heritage college students. Dr. Nour currently sees clients in private practice, teaches adjunct at local universities, and mentors graduate students regarding the academic and research process.
