Untelevised is a media platform dedicated to documenting grassroots work; simplifying political concepts and exploring possibilities for social change. It was set up in partnership between Revoke CIC and media company Filmanthropy, to bridge the gap between the grassroots and the media industry and is lead by Mona Bani (Revoke founder) and Fisayo Fadahunsi (Filmanthropy founder). We won the 2021 Lankelly Chase Independent News and Media Award and hosted the 2021 and 2023 Lush Spring Prize award ceremonies in Glasgow ahead of COP26 and in Berlin. Revoke is a grassroots organisation advocating for the rights and welfare of displaced young people in London, and those in the care system, living without advocates, families, power, or a voice. Founded by a team with lived experience of migration; racism; learning English as an additional language; and the trauma of displacement. May Project is an award winning grassroots project, working with urban communities to address poverty, disempowerment and access to resources and influence. They specialise in outreach to young people, refugees and those living on the margins of society. Their youth programme 'Hip Hop Garden' won the 2015 Team London award for innovative work with young people and was later backed by Choose Love to support young refugees and asylum seekers in South London. In 2017 they were chosen by The Evening Standard to deliver our Grow, Cook, Eat programme for Merton residents, to improve food poverty, ill health and social isolation on housing estates. They deliver workshops for schools, youth clubs, ethical businesses like Lush Cosmetics and advise on social policy including the Mayor of London's Food strategy and London National Parks City. I led on the work with refugees, media, business development, fundraising, HR, finance and produced a radio show. Since joining as a director I tripled our annual turnover, taking the organisation from a small voluntary project to a strong social enterprise, offering year-round programmes.

Specialising in social sector consultancy, I work with charities, local authorities, social enterprises and research bodies to improve operational effectiveness, social impact, financial sustainability and partnership working, responding to policy changes and wider political context.

Working with teachers and educational practitioners, in the UK and Denmark, to develop best practice in teaching English and Danish as a second language, mostly to refugee children - using both personal and professional experiences. This involves designing training content and resources; advising on strategy and challenging current practices and polices.

Every Voice delivers events, media, educational programmes and research to achieve race equality and representation in the mainstream. I lead all educational outreach, cultural programmes and events, including the All World History All Year Round campaign, supported by Islington Council, which aims to diversify the national history curriculum by working closely with schools and partnering with education and heritage partners. My work included delivering a pilot national, history film competition for 11-19 year olds with Chichester University, Black Cultural Archives and the Historical Association; a youth history conference for 60 students; poetry event with award-winning poet Anthony Anaxagorou; book launch with award-winning author Anjan Sundaram and a panel discussion to respond to the Cabinet Office's 2017 Race Disparity Audit.

Worked closely with the senior leadership team and trustee board at CHESS Homeless in Chelmsford to develop a new business plan to diversify their service delivery, reduce reliance on local authority funding and improve operational efficiency across the organisation, to meet requirements set by Cabinet Office's Local Sustainability Fund

Responsible for coaching social entrepreneurs selected as part of Unltd's Big Venture Challenge programme. This involved establishing networks within the third, public and private sector, and preparing entrepreneurs for social investment and scale up. The ventures addressed social issues, including education, unemployment and homelessness. The Shaftesbury Partnership is a social business, who specialise in taking ideas for social reform from concept to design and then scale.

Selected to lead on policy and strategy on Latimer's youth mental health campaigns in partnership with Newham and Lewisham councils under the Big Lottery’s HeadStart programme, which aims to involve 10-17 year olds in the design of online and community-based youth mental health campaigns.

Researcher and translator for the Scandinavian chapters of 'The New Face of Digital Populism', 2011. Lead the Danish chapter and conducted fieldwork with far-right groups in Copenhagen.

Worked on a Runnymede Trust, University of Cambridge and University of Manchester collaboration, funded by the AHRC, which looked at how to broaden diversity in the national history curriculum. Worked with three case-study schools across London and Manchester to test new ways of teaching Key Stage 3 history and presented these findings to policy makers. Hosted an expert roundtable at Kings College London, to engage history academics, education specialists and journalists in the debate around diversity in the national curriculum, as well as a parliamentary event to showcase the work of our schools to MPs.

Placed on secondment at the Cabinet Office to work on the upscale of the government's flagship youth programme, National Citizen Service (NCS). Was assigned to the largest NCS contract to improve their communication, supply-chain management and understanding of the youth sector. Provided regular analysis for reports to the Minister for Civil Society and worked with charities across the country to guarantee the implementation of the Merlin Code of Conduct for Private and Voluntary Sector Collaboration. Led an initiative, requested by Nick Hurd, focusing on integrating local authorities into central government youth policy.

Selected as the only person from The Challenge Network's internal marketing team to work with the Cabinet Office, to support charities, youth groups and colleges across the UK to improve their performance in line with government targets. Also led the tendering process and management of a call centre to assist under-resourced organisations and sat on an NCS Advisory Group, lead by the CEO of The Challenge Network, which looked at how to measure the quality and impact of NCS within the youth sector.

Established the pilot NCS programme in four London boroughs and achieved the highest rate of participating schools and young people in the UK that year (101% of government targets). Presented regularly to hundreds of teenagers in schools, worked with school leadership teams and spent three weeks as a Team Leader on a residential youth programme, leading a team of twelve 16-year olds through physical activities and the planning of their own social campaign. The Challenge Network is a charity and the largest provider of NCS.

Delivered the centre's 2009 international conference on educational development in East and West Africa, which was attended by 50+ delegates from The Commonwealth Secretariat, UNESCO and educational ministers and head teachers from Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.

Designed bespoke support programmes for children and young people from around the world, as they arrived at the school, with English as a second language and needed integrating into the UK curriculum. Worked with parents to integrate their children's previous education and identify their needs. Did translation and interpretation work, as well as private tutoring and classroom assistant work.
