As the current Head of the Peace Support Facility (PSF) in Ethiopia and former UNDP Head of Office and Stabilization in Northeast Nigeria, I lead transformative peace and development initiatives across conflict-affected regions. With over 15 years of expertise in security sector governance, rule of law, and conflict transformation in North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia, I specialize in integrating the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus to enhance social cohesion, governance, and local development. In Ethiopia, my work involves supporting local authorities to improve capacities for SGBV survivors while also focusing on community-based approaches that foster economic revival and stabilize livelihoods. My role emphasizes the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure, promoting socio-economic reintegration, and enhancing community resilience through strategic collaboration with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies. My leadership ensures that the PSF not only responds rapidly to urgent needs but also builds a sustainable foundation for peace and development aligned with regional priorities.I have experience in shaping organizational strategies and designing tailored courses for justice and security stakeholders, with a strong track record in influencing policies and programs of governments and international organizations. I am currently also advancing UNDP’s effort in implementing durable solutions for displaced communities, enhancing resilience, stability, and social cohesion through strategic collaboration with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies.
