Research Engineer In Railway Dynamics
CurrentKey contributions :- Perform advanced computational modelling for railway engineering using FEA, Multi-body dynamics simulation and BEM.- Simulate train dynamics to design vehicle suspension systems and validate ride quality, running safety and stability performances according to the required regulations.- Develop adhesion and wheel-rail contact models to improve prediction of vehicle dynamic performances.- Optimize the Multi-body software VOCO to run real-time braking simulation in a HIL environment.- Investigate the mechanism of polygonal wear of train wheels and its effect on the vehicle and track dynamic response.- Perform data analysis for test measurements and develop post-processing procedures to validate simulations according to EN standard requirements.- Provide R&D engineering support for Ph.D students and engineers on topics related to rail vehicle dynamics modeling. Other activities :- Develop a Building Information Modelling (BIM) demonstrator of a Switch & Crossing system and a plain line compliant with the IFC Rail standard.- Develop a Benchmark for several BIM software to assess their capability to create S&C geometry using the IFC standard.- Interact with stakeholders and partners at various levels in order to complete tasks and challenges for a better solution.
