Working at Sephora as a seasonal Makeup Consultant was a big accomplishment for me. I was given the responsibilities for skin care and makeup applications on new and regular clients. Even though my time with sephora was cut short I feel I learned a lot about the company and about myself as well. Sephora made me a better artist not only because they allowed me to be myself but the company also taught me how to break out of my comfort zone. I was able to improve on my artistry skills and also trying out something new such as bringing skin care into my work. not many clients (females especially) know that skin care plays an important role when wearing makeup. Being able to teach and learn that fact has become a great lesson for my outside clients.

At Mac Cosmetics I worked at a counter inside of Macy's. Working at a counter is a lot different from working at the actual store. You have to follow both Mac and the department stores rules it also not all counters carry what the actual stores may have which can be hard when bringing in sales. Being a Mac girl was the most fun I've ever had working with Makeup. My responsibilities has an artist was doing makeup applications for new and regular clients. Everyday was a different routine to follow and I would try my best to overcome the task given. Being that this was my first time working at a company who only specialise in one thing was a little difficult for me. I felt like a baby being taught how to walk all over again. My daily task was to seek a client and not only sell but make a connection with her by making her feel not only like a client but like a friend . We also had a show and teach motto that we used to connect to the clients. Not all women can do their own make up so we would introduce a product show her how it works and what it's used for then have her try it out in herself. As a Makeup Artist you want your client to not only feel comfortable but you have to bring out that inner and outer beauty as well.

Being at Victoria's Secret was an amazing experience for me . Working there with people with different personalities was the best part about the job. Everyday there was a new goal set for the store and I overcome every obstacle to come out on top. A beauty consultant is a girl who interacts with customers who not only comes to VS for under garments, but who also came to look at our fragrances. Selling fragrances wasn't easy at first, but once I got the hang of it I became Lexington's top seller. I feel it was my hype personality that drove the clients into the fragrance/Makeup room. Not many of our clients knew we sold makeup which was a bad thing for the beauty world at VS. It began with a client who was shopping for her sister-in- law. She didn't know exactly what to get her but she knew what she liked which so happened to be makeup. I introduced her to VS eyeshadows which another clients saw and began to ask questions about it as well from then on I sold everything off the counter and more. VS was the first store I ever tried doing makeup for and I barely knew much about it but from the sales I was getting I knew I was doing a good job. Working at VS taught me a lot about retail sales and customer experience and I am happy to say I was once apart of the team.
