It encompasses the University Santo Tomás, a Technical Formation Center, and a Professional Institute.Reporting to the Vice-rector Academics and CIED’s Board of Directors, I was responsible for the ongoing leadership and oversight of CIED. This included managing financial and human resources, developing strategies and processes to promote effective teaching and learning practices across the three institutions, supporting innovative educational practices, and promoting faculty and student engagement in educational research and scholarship activities.

With over 38,000 students and 4,600 academics distributed across 4 sites in different cities in Chile, the University San Sebastián is one of Chile's most prestigious private universities. Reporting to the Vice-Rector Academics, I was responsible for implementing the Faculty of Health Sciences Strategic Plan while ensuring its alignment with the institution’s Mission and Vision. Other responsibilities included representing the Faculty in the Superior Academic Council, leading a team of 22 Academic Directors located in 4 sites across the country, leading and supporting faculty and employees through the employment lifecycle, and managing financial and human resources for the 4 academic programs in the faculty.

The Office of Global e-Health, Strategy (OGeHS) worked with partners in local, provincial, national, and international communities to address three areas of public and global e-health interest: Build e-health capacity, knowledge, and skills; evaluate existing e-health solutions, and; perform e-health research (which included environmental e-health, disaster e-health, and strategic e-health). All activities involved Knowledge Translation to encourage evidence-informed decision making. During that period projects were undertaken in Canada (First Nations e-Health), Latin America and the Caribbean (Chile and Haiti), Asia (Afghanistan), and Africa (South Africa and Tanzania). My role as Co-Director was to seek and prepare local, national, and international funding applications and requests for proposals and manage the resulting small and large research grants and their associated research teams. In addition, I actively participated in preparing and presenting the findings from these activities both individually and as part of our team.
