E-Jewelry Posting Clerk And House Numismatist

While at Goodwill I did a heap of different things. My absolute favorite part about Goodwill had to be that I was able to constantly learn something new. I gained an incredible amount of knowledge because of the different things I did there. My main focus during this period included being solely responsible for the Attorney General account Goodwill obtained. This account dealt in the public auctioning of abandoned safety deposit box material ranging from junk to incredibly valuable collectibles. The aspects of this position included...-Receiving and inventorying of new shipments-Spreadsheets!-Researching materials (meerschaum, amber, precious metals, numis, sports collectibles, etc)-Profitable lotting of items in specific accounts-Professional photography of items for publication online-Tracking lots, listings, and sales-Posting and proper description of lots to an online auction platform-Organization and security of items-Precious metal and stone testingIn addition to the Attorney General consignments I was also very active in the Shopgoodwill Jewelry department. Posting Clerk

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

While working for Goodwill my main duties included receiving, sorting, evaluating, photographing, and auctioning of donated items. While here I leaded efforts to improve SOP's as well as creating guides and other learning materials for new hires and stores in my region. When I started we were grossing $200k-$250k per month and always in the top 5 producing Shopgoodwill locations in the nation. When I departed in 2010 we were grossing $1M per month and always in the top 3. In a typical day I would create reports to see which of my locations needed some new auction listings. I would then sort through revelvant store material. I would need to decide which items were worth auctioning, which items needed to be re-routed back to a store, and which items needed to be thrown away or destroyed. I would prepare carts of material and queue them up for other posting clerks. Once enough carts were in queue I would take my cart to a photography station. While here I would prepare the items for photographing if they needed cleaning or organizing and then photograph the items. After photography it was time to download the pictures and list the items on the website. Once and item is listed it was assigned a location and put away awaiting the end of the auction and shipping. I would routinely go through closed auctions to evaulate items that did not sell to see if they should be relisted or sent back through to a store or the bin site.
