Developed 3D models of auxetic transvaginal meshes for pelvic organ prolapse repair using SolidWorks. Used FEBio, a Finite Element Analysis program, to simulate uniaxial loading under incremental loads. Determined the change in diameter and centroid position of the pore under load using Mathematica. Created physical mesh modes using PDMS (similar material stiffness to that of vaginal tissue) from the computational models that were found to be truly auxetic. Performed mechanical testing on the physical mesh models to verify results of the computational analysis.

• Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship in the Infectious Diseases department at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. • Analyzed the molecular characterization of three CMV strains to determine cause of congenital infection.• Utilized RT-PCR, conventional PCR, cell culture, western blots, plaque assays, viral infections and viral titers.• Presented results at the SURF program capstone poster symposium.
