Working at New Balance is a unique retail experience where kindness, patience, and expertise are a necessity to serving customers. Being well-trained in product knowledge, foot mobility/injuries, accommodations for other health issues and keeping current in the running community is a major component to successfully establishing long-term relationships between the customer and the company. Showing leadership among the team meant balancing excellent customer service while maintaining organized stock, store displays, overall cleanliness and using the POS system (RICs, RetailPro).

The Biomimicry Commons is a place of learning and innovation through inspiration of ecological systems and sustainable forms. My role as designer manages the content for the website, social media outputs, and poster design. Through direct consultation with the owner and market research, the branding is telling of how Biomimicry as an essential way of creating for a sustainable future.

My position of sales associate meant being responsible for greeting and assisting customers with styling for athletic and swim wear. The company's presentations for product knowledge and frequent training established how essential it is to recommend the right product for the customer, so being involved in the transaction creates an opportunity to up-sell while establishing customer loyalty. By maintaining a high standard of store organization and replenishment of items, it enhanced the overall shopping and customer experience. I found the importance of being proactive in every customer's shopping experience allowed fewer instances of theft. By having good practice, I frequently achieved daily goals for sales and items per transaction.
