As a part of the Peer Recovery Coach Apprenticeship, we get both classroom and clinical training. We have had extensive training in motivational interviewing, CPR, mental health crisis, CPI, as well as cultural humility, safety planning, and Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). I have completed many hours of culturally competent/culturally sensitive learning including but not limited to LGBTQIA, African American, Amish, Black, Haitian and Appalachian. Our first rotation was at the MHRC (the inpatient psychiatric unit) and I am now working at the Mood clinic. Committed to facilitating a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their strengths and achieve their recovery goals.

Ascension has hospitals all over the country and as a buyer we work directly with associates at the health ministry who have requisitioning authority. Computed and created purchase orders in PeopleSoft to monitor stock levels, verify purchase requisitions and expedite customer orders. Responsible for all stat orders, resolving all shipping errors, initiate all returns, follow up with suppliers for timely shipments, confirm contract pricing - adjust pricing accordingly on purchase order, work directly with supplier/sales rep for reasonable substitutions when product is on backorder/allocation, resolve any credit holds quickly so product can be delivered in a timely manner.
