- Advise caseload of 400 students annually. Educate and assist students with setting and achieving their academic and professional goals. Provide students with ad hoc referrals to career services, disability services, student success center, and other departments to ensure degree completion and program retention.- Advise students on receiving credits for Prior Learning, AP, EEP, and CLEP exams. Coordinate closely with professors, and academic departments to support students in completing their degrees and transferring to universities and colleges. Inform students who are in violation of federal guidelines about Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policies and procedures and assist students with the financial aid appeal process.- Create and facilitate welcome sessions to incoming students. Proactively develop multiple methods to connect new students to CCRI, resulting in over 70% of students successfully completing their first year of college.- Creator of the Rhode Island Promise Guidebook for new Academic Advisors.- Creator of the Advising and Counseling Caseload Management Playbook.- Continue to lead online peer advising training sessions during pandemic aimed to improve consistent advising practices within the department.
