Responsible for performing mission integration and operations functions for SPACEHAB module missions and for documenting payload requirements for SPACEHAB’s Integrated Cargo Carrier missions. Duties included developing, integrating, and documenting mission requirements along with training new members of the team in the processes and products involved in those duties. As STS-118 Stowage Lead, developed SPACEHAB module layout and stowage configuration, maintained resource allocation within mission parameters, participated in the team effort of planning and conducting bench review of stowage items with the astronaut crew, provided rapid responses to our Lockheed Martin customer and NASA MOD as dictated by mission changes, and supported STS-118 real-time operations as the Lead STOW on the Flight Control Team.

In the absence of the classroom teacher, provided instruction, encouraged student progress, and managed the learning environment. For long term assignments, prepared and executed lesson plans per district guidelines and school policies.

Early program duties included defining SPACEHAB module capabilities and developing program processes. Follow-on duties include developing, integrating, and documenting mission requirements. As lead mission integration engineer, conducted systems engineering trade studies, developed SPACEHAB module layout and stowage configuration, maintained resource allocation within mission parameters, obtained hardware necessary to support payload/experiment requirements, and provided real-time mission support for the transfer of logistics items from the SPACEHAB module to Mir. As lead timeline engineer, developed SPACEHAB experiment operations timeline, allocated resources necessary for performing experiment tasks, trained astronaut crew in execution of the designed timeline, and provided real-time mission support to maintain the timeline and coordinate needed changes. As experiment operations engineer, developed procedures for performing experiment tasks and trained crew on the execution of these tasks.

Responsible for performing experiment requirements integration activities necessary to develop a mission operations timeline. Duties included documenting experiment operations requirements, developing mission timeline, and coordinating use of space shuttle resources with NASA team. Trained other individuals to be members of the timeline team by teaching processes and programs associated with the job. Performed special operational studies to determine the compatibility of experiments proposed for flight on a particular shuttle mission.
