Since its founding, CDM has been driven by its mission to improve the living and working conditions of low-wage workers in the United States. With headquarters in Mexico City, two satellite offices in Juxtlhuaca, Oaxaca and Baltimore, Maryland, and advocates in Zacatecas, CDM has established itself as a powerful, transnational agent of change. As such, CDM is internationally recognized as one of the leading legal advocacy organizations dedicated to migrant rights issues.

Founded the first U.S. project aimed at eradicating workplace gender discrimination and sexual violence against farmworker and low-wage immigrant women. Handled extensive civil litigation and administrative advocacy on employment and civil rights matters; national technical assistance provider and consultant to lawyers, agencies and advocates; launched a national working group and planned a national conference focused on ending workplace sexual violence against farmworker and low-wage immigrant women. Supervised law fellows, attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff, law clerks and volunteers on various projects.

Founded the first U.S.-based project dedicated to representing female farmworker victims of gender discrimination, including workplace sexual violence. Developed and litigated gender discrimination cases, filed administrative complaints, created community legal education materials on sexual harassment and other gender discrimination topics, engaged in administrative advocacy with federal, state, and local agencies, and handled cases on behalf of farmworkers in Florida involving other employment violations. Advisory board member of the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s Human Trafficking Project.
