Design and oversee implementation of the Boston Public Schools engagement strategies with families, students, community and partners in ways that align with and support district goals particularly around academic achievement and elimination of opportunity gaps.

- Maintain ongoing communication with Assistant Superintendents of Networks to ensure responsiveness and accountability for Office of Engagement supports to schools; to ensure alignment of OFSE supports with District priorities and State and Federal law; to keep them informed of current OFSE initiatives, goals, priorities; and to assist them in building a deep knowledge of effective family and student engagement practices to assist them in successfully evaluating Principal practice in Standard III of the MA administrator evaluation rubric. - Serve as a collaborative member of the Office of Engagement Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership for the department, to build and maintain relationships with external partners, to identify and seek external funding opportunities, and to lead the development and implementation of BPS family and student engagement policies and capacity building initiatives for families, schools, students, and the district. - Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of key initiatives that build capacity of school leaders, teachers, and school staff to effectively engage families and students in ways that align the MA educator evaluation rubrics and the BPS Standards for Family & Student Engagement. - Oversee the development and delivery of family and student engagement professional development and training for Principals/Headmasters, teachers, and other school staff. - Manage process, supports, and reporting for schools to effectively implement the Core Elements of Family & Student Engagement, including School Site Council, School Parent Council, Student Government, School-Parent Compacts, Engagement Plans and Policies, and the family engagement component of schools' Quality School Plans.
