My multifaceted skills and commitment to empowering families have prepared me to support future helping professionals in becoming compassionate, informed, supportive, and inclusive changemakers.I currently serve as an Instructor in Human Development and Family Studies at Winthrop University, where I design and teach courses aligned with national Family Life Education standards. I am a nationally-certified Family Partner, providing training and support that educates professionals to empower families.Throughout my years of increasingly complex roles at a government social services agency, I gained immeasurable knowledge and skills in areas such as program eligibility, case management, family resource support, policy education, legal procedures, data verification, and fraud prevention, to name a few. I have completed master's degrees in human services and in education as well as a bachelor's degree in child and family studies and a post-master's certificate in university and college teaching. I am a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), a Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP), and a Certified Family Peer Specialist (CFPS), along with being a North Carolina Notary Public. I plan to embark on the journey toward a doctoral degree in 2025.I am passionate about neurodivergence (particularly autism and ADHD), LGBTQ+ rights and resources (especially for youth), and learning to use new technology that enriches our lives through efficiency as well as entertainment.
