Over the last two decades, I have acquired extensive experience in the Life Sciences sector counseling a wide range of clients over patents, industrial designs, business secrets, health registrations, plant varieties, and cannabis. My experience includes all processes related to patent prosecution, industrial designs, including litigation and dispute resolution, technology transfer, consulting and patent technology searches in Latin America. I am particularly skilled in handling large portfolios of both human and animal health registrations in Latin America. I am also known for being responsible of designing efficient structures for filing and obtaining sanitary registrations for food and beverages, medical devices, drugs, dietary supplements, household grooming products, personal care products, cannabis and cosmetics, as well as veterinary drugs, animal cosmetics and pet Food. I have extensive experience regarding import and export of seeds, human genetic material, plant variety protection in Latin America and fertilizer licensing. I combine my knowledge on patents, confidential information, know how, proprietary information and trade secrets in Industrial Property consulting, helping to build a value chain of intangible assets, to structure confidential information protocols and to generate a value chain of knowledge to turn it into an Industrial Property asset. As a consequence, my experience has allowed me to participate in complex due diligences in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cannabis, food & beverage, medical devices and clinical trials industries, among others. Finally, I am recognized for my legal advice and guidance on complex health care matters such as ethics committees, clinical trials, structuring business models for controlled substances, import and export of genetic material.
